Fabulous Local foodies from Earth, Land, and Sea series presented by Will Ceddia of Six Penny Oyster

William Ceddia

William Ceddia is the  co owner and operator of Sixpenny Oysters, an aquaculture farm based in Groton, Connecticut. With a passion for sustainable seafood and a deep respect for the ocean, William has helped built their farm around responsible oyster growing practices that highlight the unique character of the Long Island Sound. Drawing on both traditional methods and modern aquaculture techniques, he focuses on producing premium oysters while contributing to the health of local waters through natural filtration and habitat creation. Beyond the farm, William has represented his craft in competitive shucking events, placing nationally while proudly showcasing the quality of New England shellfish.

Sixpenny Oysters

Founded on the waters of Groton, CT, Sixpenny Oysters is a boutique oyster farm dedicated to sustainable aquaculture and exceptional flavor. Each oyster is grown with care in the clean, nutrient-rich waters of the Sound, where they develop their signature briny-sweet profile. The farm takes pride in supporting the local marine ecosystem—every oyster not only provides a unique culinary experience but also helps filter the water and support marine biodiversity. Sixpenny Oysters stands as both a working farm and a steward of the ocean, committed to quality, sustainability, and the future of aquaculture in Connecticut.
